چکیده
The photocatalytic oxidation of cyanide by titanium dioxide (TiO2) supported on activated carbon (AC) was evaluated in a continuous flow UV photo-reactor. photo-reactor made glass and covered with wood box to isolate the fluid external conditions. TiO2-AC synthesized impregnation TiO2 granular AC composites characterized inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms. Photocatalytic adsorption tests were conducted separately simultaneously. results showed that 97% CN− degraded within 24 h due combined adsorption. To estimate contribution only adsorption, two-stage performed. First, 74% ion degradation reached under dark This result attributed generation H2O2 surface AC. Then, 99% obtained through photocatalysis during h. These photo-reactor’s design enhanced performance compared an agitated batch system. Therefore, use is promising process for aqueous solutions.

Objective(s): Photo-thermal therapy (PTT) is a therapeutic method in which photon energy is converted into heat to induce hyperthermia in malignant tumor cells. In this method, energy conversion is performed by nanoparticles (NPs) to enhance induced heat efficacy. The low-cytotoxicity and high optical absorbance of NPs used in this technique are very important. In the present study, titanium di...
